Roberta Horsman is an herbalist, wheat weaver, floral designer, gardener, teacher, and event coordinator. She is dedicated to living a creative life, sharing her knowledge and passion for nature with others.
She has a Masters of Arts in Expressive Therapy degree from Lesley University. She worked for ten years in mental health facilities with adults and adolescents using the arts as a therapeutic tool.
She completed The Science and Art of Herbology at Sage Mountain Herbal School in 1996, and Delta Gardens Flower Essence Practitioner Program in 2002.
Roberta designed and produces an herbal product line for skin care, pain care, and balancing energy that is sold in health food stores from Concord, MA to Portsmouth, NH and online.
She has offered classes at The International Herb Symposium, The New England Women’s Herbal Conference and taught for ten years at The Canterbury Shaker Village. She has also given numerous lectures and workshops to organizations in New England since 1990.
Roberta has been a wheat weaver for over twenty six years. She sells her weavings at shows and has taught wheat weaving in schools, for community groups and at herbal conferences.
Roberta has ten years of experience as a floral designer doing custom work, teaching classes and selling her work in retail stores. She taught at Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute, and North Shore Community College.
Roberta has a garden consultant business where she helps clients design, plant, and maintain gardens appropriate to their location and situation. She established and maintained an acre of gardens for 13 years where she planted herbs for medicinal use as well as formal gardens including knot gardens, roses, and culinary herbs.
Roberta has organized art shows and healing arts events for the past twenty years in the Newburyport area.
